What sort of export features will make the output of Arcane Mapper easier for you to use? For example do you think being able to manually split a map into multiple pages is useful or is automatic splitting fine? What sort of image formats do you find useful (.PNG and .JPG are obvious but maybe others are useful)? You get the idea, here is your chance to ask for export features to make your life easier when Arcane Mapper releases.

Hopefully you forgive my shoddy memory, but you mentioned exporting as .psd so that we might make finishing touches in PS at somepoint, right? Other than that I'm only interested in jpg and png. As far as splitting I'm solely a VTT gm, so I just want to be able to export as a single image, or have an easy way to stitch those pieces together(if the image is too large to be rendered in one pass).

By default, if you select an image format (rather than PDF), it saves the map as one image. If you select PDF then it defaults to Letter sized pages. Either way you can customize the settings - for example multiple pages for images or single page for PDF. As a VTT GM you will be able to save out single images and .PSDs with layers - so a single click with default settings will work for you. The software will handle generating large images in as many tiles as necessary and merging automatically, you won't have to worry about stitching yourself.

If it's possible at all, I'd say go for being able to export as multiple images (Possibly the hard part here) no larger than X (Ex. 5) Megabytes in size, if only for the ability to get around Roll20's 5MB upload limit with free accounts.

That is to say, as an option for exporting. Not as a default. Also, further expansion upon the "X Megabytes" part, that being configureable by the user.

Thanks for the suggestion tpinkelmann, it never occurred to me to split up by size on disk - though it does have the ability to split to fit specific page sizes (letter, legal, etc.).
I will have to give it some thought.

The next build will support png, jpg, jp2 (jpeg 2000), bmp, dds, psd (no layers yet though), tga, tif and pdf for map Rendering/Export. Let me know if I missed anything. Fortunately for import an even wider range of image formats are supported.
