I captured a large map (3500 x 3500 pixels). PNG format. I'm able to drag it into AM, but nothing happens. Changing the width/height in SETTINGS did nothing. I also tried Use Background Image. The only thing I get is my image stuck into the upper left square of the grid. Teeny-weeny. Can I grab it and manipulate it?

The only thing I get is my image stuck into the upper left square of the grid. Teeny-weeny. Can I grab it and manipulate it? The Settings Window is the correct way to add a background image. Click []Use Background Image, select the image using the Browse button. If you wish to change the scale or offset, use the Scale and OffsetX, OffsetY sliders below. You can also change the tint by using Image Tint. These controls are a little clunky at the moment, in the future you will be able to directly manipulate the background image like you can objects. Please post if this does not work for you, thanks. Also, Width and Height control the size of the map you are building. Currently the background image is mainly meant for decoration or as a way of building your map easier (like a blueprint).

OK. Just got V1.0.2660.
Now it works! I was doing the steps you outlined, but got nothing workable. Thanks for the help. When I'm done, how do I get rid of the "blueprint" image? Un-checking it in SETTINGS didn't work. Also, SELECT ALL to delete doesn't select anything. I made 3 rooms over the background image. I tried SELECT ALL/DELETE in both ROOMS and LIBRARY modes. I can delete the background image from the library but it remains on the map.
Coupla suggestions:
1. Tab key to navigate from field to field instead of having to mouse-click each one.
2. Ability to change wall thickness. (It's probably there and I just can't find it.)
3. Ability to change grid size to match the background image.

There was a compatibility issue with some AMD drivers, which is why the Background functionality wasn't working for you before.
It looks like there is a bug. If you uncheck Background Image in Settings and save then reload it goes away. The bug is that it should go away immediately rather than having to reload the map.
As for your suggestions: 1. There are definite UI improvements coming, this included. 2. You can change the wall height by selecting a room - go to the Rooms Tab, change Mode: to "Edit" and then left click on your room - and then changing the Height/Depth value. 0 = just wall tops, 16 = default, 32 = double tall walls, etc.. There should be a way to change the default so you don't have to tweak it constantly, which is coming soon. 3. I think a better way to scale the background image to the grid would be better, but yeah this needs some work.

adding on to this, would there be a way to add a, lets say, template from Donjon for creating a map? importing a dungeon from a saved image and importing it easily to draw the dungeon map yourself?

Hello Aku, thanks for the suggestion.
However, can you elaborate on how this is different then being able to import an image as a background?

Well, earlier when I was trying to import the image, it wouldn't fit with the grid. it was always too big or too small when I tried to scale it, and offsetting it wouldnt work to help it. Unless I was possibly making it too big?

I see, so the feature isn't the problem but the UI needs improvement. That is the kind of information I was looking for, thanks. The UI will be improved in the future, so this should get easier.
