I am trying to decide whether Arcane Mapper should show the Steam Overlay. Due to the way the tool is rendered, it won't have the issue of the Overlay appearing in multiple windows like some non-game applications. And having access to the overlay will grant the usual Steam features. However seeing popups while editing can be distracting.

To hell with popups, always gets in my way.

I don't really need any features from steam I can't use while Arcane Mapper is windowed. Chat, workshop... I can just get those in the Steam Client window itself. I don't really use this program fullscreen. Anyone else?

I removed the poll, the results are that 2 people didn't like the idea of the Steam overlay and 1 person didn't care either way. In the end, it turns out, I don't actually have much of a choice since I want to support Steam features such as Steam Workshop. Fortunately the overlay does not get in the way since the tool window does not extend all the way to the bottom of the window. So even when the popup comes up, it should not cause any inconvenience.
I hate to ask for feedback and then not act on it, but in this case I think it is justified.

If you see a use for it then include it! No need for justification. It can always be disabled, anyway. I was the one that didn't mind either way

I usually launch my stuff through Steam, so having an overlay is sort of redundant.

Thanks for the comment Ricebug but unfortunately the Overlay is staying for the time being in order to support Steam Workshop and other Steam features.
